The purpose of this one-day conference is to provide a forum for mental health professionals to increase their knowledge base and competence in caring for individuals with mental illnesses. The focus of the Annual Psychiatric/Mental Health Update continues to be team-based and multidisciplinary, and it targets providers in both acute and community-based settings. This year’s event focuses on Evidence-Based Practice including treatment programs for PTSD and Autism Spectrum Disorders, the recent implementation of Assertive Community Treatment programs in Missouri, a psychopharmacology update on Clinically Significant Drug Interactions, and an afternoon devoted to Autism Spectrum Disorders.
In order to sufficiently address the assigned topic and enhance audience participation, the planning committee has selected four of the most pressing topics facing mental health providers, and allowed each speaker more time to discuss the topic.
